Imperium Solo by Duke, an adaptator to connect an USB joystick or mouse on joystick port

-

Duke has released his Imperium solo which is an adaptator to connect USB joysticks (PS4, Xbox One...) or mouses on a standard joystick port for Amstrad CPC. It will be available for other computers later thanks to an update done with the USB port (ZX Spectrum, C64, Amiga et Atari ST).

He will soon start to ship the pre-orders, if you want one it is time to order one but you will have to wait for all pre-orders to be shipped first. I have ordered two adaptators myself.

Check Duke's site about Imperium Solo.

The split cable you see in the video to power the CPC and the adaptator is included with the adaptator for the price of 15 euros, add shipping and paypal cost too.

Repoker de Ases, games by 4Mhz in a Dandanator in my mailbox

-

I happily received my Repoker de Ases par 4Mhz which is a compilation of games made by 4Mhz in a cartridge, a dandanator in fact.

With its 1 Mb RAM and 1 Mb ROM, I was able to launch the only 1 Mb demo on Amstrad : bad apple, nice also with SymbOS with so much memory. Dont forget the 512 Kb RAM drive and also the wifi like the M4 board by Duke. It is only lacking more AY for more sound channels, but it will be for the next release as stated by 4Mhz.

P.S. : the first paragraph is the truth, it is quite possible that the second one is an April fool.

Push hardware to its limit, the speaker of the first PC

-

What is the common point between the PC speaker and the Amstrad CPC : Fantasy World Dizzy.

In a interesting article on Habr, we learn how the simple PC speaker is allowed to make music despite its obvious limitations.

Repoker de Ases, games by 4Mhz in a Dandanator

-

Repoker de Ases par 4Mhz is a compilation of 4Mhz's games in a cartridge, more exactly in a Dandanator, so it has a 64 Kb RAM expansion, nice for an Amstrad CPC 464.

BEWARE, there are only 150 of them, so be quick to order one.

A test of the Amstrad Emailer Plus done by ChinnyVision, an interesting device...

-

Let's talk about something else than Amstrad 8bit computers, though we will stay in the familly to see the test of the Amstrad Emailer Plus done by ChinnyVision.

The following informations are from the Emailer Plus wikipedia page.

The Amstrad E-mailer (often stylized as E-m@iler or written as Emailer or Em@iler) is a landline phone device, launched in 2000. It is essentially a desktop telephone with an LCD screen and limited Internet dialup and email messaging capabilities. Later models (the E-m@iler Plus, released 2002, and E3 Superphone with videophone capabilities, released 2004) were notable for including the ability to play ZX Spectrum videogames, leveraging Amstrad's previous experience manufacturing Spectrum models. The keyboard or Mailboard that slid out from under the handset was similar to the original ZX Spectrum keyboard, so it was similar to playing them on the Spectrum when using the E3 Superphone with its colour screen.
